Alfred Lee Gabriel

Mr. Alfred Lee Gabriel, of Mecklenburg County, North Carolina, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, August 30, 2025.

Born to the late Rufus and Sarah Gabriel, Alfred was educated in the Mecklenburg County School System. He grew up surrounded by love, family, and community, values which shaped his life and the relationships he built.

Alfred was preceded in death by his loving wife, Sherry Derr Gabriel.

Alfred was a devoted father to his son, Nykine Kewaun Houston, who brought joy and pride to his life.

He leaves to cherish his memory his sisters, Sarah Jane Thompson (Wardell) and Wanda Gabriel; his brothers, Phillip Gabriel, Spencer Gabriel, and Charles Gabriel (Kaye); his niece, Portia Thompson; and his nephews, Shawan Gabriel (Keisha), Richard Thompson, Charles McAfee (Laura), Josh Thompson (Ivanova), and Adrian McAfee, his Aunts Vera Robertson, Hazline Robinson and Ann Robinson.

He will also be remembered by a host of extended family, friends, and loved ones who will carry his memory in their hearts.
