Anthony Dewitt “Tony” Clark was born in Mooresville, NC on September 13, 1956 to Priscilla Clark and the late John H. Ross. He was predeceased by Grandparents John W. and Sarah Withers-Clark, Cleo and Ola Ross. Anthony, also known as Tony, Ant, Eyes or Mobile, was raised in Davidson NC until high school. He later moved to Charlotte NC where he resided until he departed this life. Tony was educated in the Char-Meck Schools. He was a member of Sugar Creek Church of Christ. Tony worked in the construction, food services and security industries throughout the years.
Tony was a sharp dresser that loved fedora hats. Always listening to old school music, such as, Blue Magic, The Delfonics, The Intruders, etc. His greatest love was for his family. And boy did he have some nicknames for us! Siblings - “Bert”, “Lucy”, “Nana”, “Boy”, and “Dirty Hand Martelli. Nieces and Nephews – “Monkey”, “Ducktail”, “Allie Cat”, “Scooter” and Nuke” to name a few. Tony was loved by ALL who knew him. He will be missed tremendously.
Left to cherish his memories are his beloved mother, Priscilla Clark, 3 brothers Romero V. Clark, Randall A. “Dray” Clark of Charlotte NC, and Mario M. Clark of Huntersville NC, 4 sisters Gitana M. Clark, Fonda D. Clark, Karen Jackson of Charlotte NC, and Janice Phillips (Aldwin) of Brooklyn NY. One Aunt, Kay Frances Johnson of Mooresville NC. Eldest Niece, Aisha T. (Monkey) Clark of Lake Wylie, SC. One special cousin, Yolanda R. McCain and her husband Fred McCain (who was Tony’s best friend in life) of Charlotte NC. 26 nieces and nephews, a host of great-great nieces and nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.
