Bro. Arthur Davis was born May 15, 1943 to Mr. Al Jetton and Jessie Davis in Mecklenburg County. He transitioned from his earthly life to his heavenly home on October 16, 2022.
Bro. Arthur Davis was educated in the Mecklenburg County School District. He was employed at Twin River Farms Landscaping Company in McAdenville, NC. In 2001 he went to work for Charlotte Country Day Private School in the Grounds Department as well as a bus driver for the school. He worked there until his retirement.
Bro. Davis was a humble and very dedicated member of The United House of Prayer. He joined the HOP under the Late Elder P. Morrison during Daddy McCullough’s Era. From that day on he was faithful to The Almighty God, The UHOP, and all of the leaders.
Bro. Davis had many duties and held many positions in the UHOP. They included: Sunday School Superintendent, President of the Male Usher Board, and Banker just to name a few. He also assisted with Baptism in Charlotte, NC during the UHOP Holy Convocation for many years. An A Class worker and Tithe Payer.
Bro. Arthur Davis was also active in the community. He was a Gleaner with the St. Andrews Gleaner Club. He also was going to Harvest and picking up food to help those in need. If anyone called for help, he would lend a helping hand with a big smile.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his lifetime friend, St. Marcille Carr.
Leaving to cherish his fond memories are a son, Algier Germain Davis of Phoenix, AZ; two special great granddaughters, Sereniti Carr and Sadea Carr of Charlotte, NC; one sister, Geneva Forney Redfear of Statesville, NC; two brothers, Wilbert Forney (Dianne) of Statesville, NC, Gilbert Forney (Beanie) of Charlotte, NC; and a host of Godchildren, nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
