Bessie Ann Stewart answered her heavenly call on Friday, June 28, 2024 at Atrium Health Cabarrus. Bessie was a lifelong resident of Mooresville who retired from the Mooresville Graded School District after 32 years of service. She was born on August 23, 1937 to Leon and Suzie Miller. Bessie was married 64 years to the love of her life Ford Stewart who preceded her in death. Bessie has 2 brothers and one sister who also preceding her in death.
Bessie Ann (also known as Bessann) was married to Ford Pike Stewart for 64 years until he entered eternal rest November 2020.
She has always been a dedicated member of Morrows Chapel UMC until her health declined. She served her church in many capacities including; the Pastor Parrish Relations Committee as chair person, the hospitality committee, Communion Stewart as chair person, the UMW (United Methodist Women), the Usher Board, and more.
Bessie was always known for her caring and affectionate heart. She was always known to give a helping hand to anyone and always at service to her family, friends, church and community. Bessie worked for the Mooresville School district for 32 years and retired in May 2000.
She leaves to cherish memories of her life are her 5 daughters Shari Kay Stewart, Rhonda Wilson, Terryann Wallace, Susan Spence and Penny Lou Stewart; 4 grandchildren, Karmekia Wilson-Abe, Janelle Shipp, Christina Spence, and Joshua Spence; and 8 great grandchildren. She also leaves; her sister Shirley (Dot) Stevenson, special niece Robin Waymer and two God daughters, Patricia Davis and Cynthia D Stewart and special cousin Audrey Stewart Sr.
