Brenda was born on June 16, 1961, in Detroit, Michigan, to the late Anna Lucinda Johnson and Bennie Johnson Jr.
She was a woman of strength and resilience, known for being fierce, caring, and having a wonderful sense of humor.
Earlier in life, Brenda briefly served in the United States Army in 1980, demonstrating her willingness to serve her country.
On March 5, 1981, Brenda married Mervyn Moore Jr., and from that union, she became the proud mother of her beloved daughter, Bianca Moore, in 1982. Brenda cherished her role as a devoted mother and was especially proud to be a loving and doting grandmother to Brayden Jackson. Brenda dedicated over 40 years of her life to the healthcare field, a career marked by commitment and service to others. She began as a Medical Assistant at Westchester Medical Center in New York and later worked with Northwell Health.
At the time of her passing, she served as a Senior Administrative Support Associate at Atrium Wake Forest Baptist Health in North Carolina. Brenda also shared her knowledge and passion by teaching as a Medical Assisting Instructor at Sanford Brown Institute in New York from 2013 to 2015, where she inspired and mentored the next generation of healthcare professionals.
Her dedication to growth and excellence was evident when she earned her Master’s Degree in Healthcare Management from the University of Phoenix in 2024.
Outside of her career, she loved cooking, crocheting, and watching HGTV and the Food Network.
Brenda is survived by her loving daughter, Bianca Moore of New York; her cherished grandson, Brayden Jackson of New York; and her siblings: Bennie Johnson of California, Otis Johnson of Alabama, Leonard Johnson and Cleo Johnson of North Carolina, and Chanda Johnson of Michigan.
