Bryan Phillip Fishe, from Sherrills Ford, NC, took his final breath on December 2, 2025, in Charlotte, NC, wrapped in the comfort of God’s promise and just days after celebrating his 69th birthday.
From the very beginning, Bryan carried a spirit that made people feel lighter just by being near him. He was the one with the witty joke, the optimistic outlook, the encouraging reminders that things would be alright. His favorite sayings were: “Good Lord Willing” and “The Creek Don’t Rise.” Bryan was your person, always.
Before retirement, Bryan built an impressive career as a restaurant manager, most notably during his final chapter with Denny’s, where he helped open five restaurants across the East Coast. After retiring, he found new purpose in community, family, and service.
At home, he was a steadfast son, brother, uncle, and nephew. He lovingly cared for his mother, Lugenia, as she transitioned home, honoring her with devotion that reflected who he was at his core. Bryan embraced yet another calling, serving faithfully at Motts Grove United Methodist Church. He took pride in being an Usher and Trustee. And of course, no one could talk about his service without mentioning his deep love for Camp Meeting.
Bryan leaves behind his brothers Barry (Marjorie) and Jeryl (Antoinette); his sisters Sandra (Marvin) and Norma; one aunt, Etta McCombs; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends who adored him. He was preceded in death by his parents, Norman and Lugenia; his brother, Gary; and his sister, Linda.
He requested to be cremated, with his ashes returned to the very soil where he first knew love from his parents and where God crafted man from the dust. It is a full-circle homegoing; simple, meaningful, and beautifully “Bryan.”
May his memory continue to guide us, comfort us, and remind us to laugh, love, and look out for one another. If Bryan has taught us anything, it’s that life is sweetest when we show up, for God, for family, and for each other.
