Mr. Calvin Eugene Donaldson, affectionately known to most as “Joe”, departed this life on June 15, 2019 at Gordon Hospice House in Statesville, NC. He was born into time on August 10, 1951 in Mecklenburg County to the late Calvin Donaldson and Louise Johnson. Calvin was married to Patricia F. Donaldson and they would have celebrated 25 years on July 8, 2019. He was a 1969 graduate of North Mecklenburg High School. He worked numerous years at Reeves Bros. currently Foamex, he also worked at Magla Products until his health took a toll. He was lastly employed by the YMCA in Statesville, NC. Joe was an avid Oakland Raiders, NC State, and Boston Celtics fan. Joe was a vibrant man who never met a stranger. He loved to socialize, and he also loved to dance; he and his wife would be the first to hit the floor. Preceding Calvin in death in addition to his parents were a daughter, Rewa Simolton, sister Jewel Donaldson, and his Aunt and Uncle who raised him, Kenneth and Mable Torrence, and brother-in-law, Steven Foster. He leaves to cherish fond memories; his wife, Patricia F. Donaldson; step-mother, Dale Donaldson, Goldsboro, NC; daughters Michelle (Michael) Horton, Davidson, NC, Brittany Stinson, Mooresville, NC, and Brandi Stinson, Statesville, NC; sons, Quentin (Ealanda) Burton, Charlotte, NC, Ryan (Kim) Smith, Upper Marlboro, MD; Cavin Caldwell, Mooresville, NC; Scottie Everhart, Salisbury, NC. 22 Grandchildren, 21 Great-Grandchildren. A sister, Dorothy (Carl) Nance, Charlotte, NC; mother-in-law, Mildred (Morris) Carson, Bostic, NC; sisters-in-law, Marilyn (James) McFechin, Clinton, MD, Rosalind Epps, Mooresville, NC; A special cousin Sybil Donaldson, and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.
