Carolina Elizabeth McConnaughey was the daughter of the late James Lester Harvey & Martha Sanders Harvey. She was born November 29, 1940 in Iredell County. She departed this earthly life on Wednesday, November 13, 2024 at Accordius Health in Mooresville, NC.
Carolina received her elementary education at Coddle Creek School in Mooresville. She joined Bethesda AME Zion church at an early age. She served on the Stewardess Board, Missionary Women department, and was a member of the Bethea Gospel Singers. Carolina was employed at Cannon Mills in Kannapolis, NC and Burlington Mills in Mooresville, NC.
She is preceded in death by her husband Curtis Washington McConnaughey; sisters, Eva Sifford and Martha Stockton; nephew, Jimmy Stockton; and grandson, Clinton Adams.
She leaves to cherish memories of her life to three daughters, Rosa Harvey of Mooresville, NC, Cynthia Steele (Vincent) of Kannapolis, NC, and Cathey Griffin (Billy) of Mooresville, NC; three grandchildren, Antonio McConnuighey Sr. (Erikia), Latetha McConnuighey of Mooresville, NC, and Billy Griffin III (Ashley) of Midland, NC. She also leaves nine great-grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren, one sister, Mary White of Mooresville, NC; three children reared in the home, Robert Harvey, Diane Stockton, and Donna Stockton; three god-children, Mary Sherrill, Jackie Rankin (Wayne), and Thea Smith; and a host of other nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
