Chowan Markquies Reid

Chowan Reid was born in Iredell County to Etta Reid Forney and the late James Kenneth Reid on February 3, 1984. She made her transition from earth on Monday, May 27, 2024 at Lake Norman Regional Medical Center, Mooresville, NC. 

Chowan attended Iredell County School system where she graduated from Lake Norman High School. She later went on to work various jobs including; Happy Lambs Daycare and Little Tots Early Learning Center where she enjoyed working with kids. 

She is preceded in death by her father James K. Reid; stepfather, Baxter H. Forney; grandparents, Bobby and Anne Reid, and Robert Allison. 

Chowan had a very bubbly personality, and never met a stranger. She was a social butterfly always striking up conversations with anyone. Some of her passtimes were shopping, listening to her music, doing crosswords, spending time with friends, and most of all enjoying her time with family especially on holidays and vacations. 

Chowan leaves to cherish memories of her life to many family and friends. She is survived by her mother, Etta Reid-Forney; sons, Jaden Johnson, Devion Reid, and Cashion Reid-Robinson; sister, Marche (A.J.) Reid; nephews, Amir Reid-Beatty and Marquis Beatty all of Mooresville, NC; and her grandmother, Mrs. Marion L. Allison of Charlotte, NC. She also leaves special cousins, Ariel, Janel Jones, and Akeeba Robinson along with a host of other relatives family and friends.
