Clayvon Ruff

Clayvon Ruff was born on June 25, 1960, in Gaston County, He was the son of the late Claywell Byrd, and Emma Torrence Ruff Nash. He departed this earthly life to go to his heavenly home on June 19, 2023, at Caramont Health Hospital, in Gastonia, N.C.

    He was preceded in death by his wife Risa Ruff, son Kegian Davis.

    Clayvon Ruff was a faithful member of New Holy Temple Church of Gastonia, N.C. He also attended New Saint Paul Holiness Church.  He was a Bass Guitar player. He was employed at A&E Mills in Mt. Holly, N.C. He was also a Truck Driver. Clayvon was promoted to drill Sergeant in the job Corp; and had received a certification in plumbing while there. He served in the Army for the United States Military for a short period of time.

He leaves behind to cherish fond memories of his life,  two Stepchildren Philipp Antonio Rankin, and Marisa Yashika Rankin; and a host of great grandchildren. Eight sisters, Peggy Ruff McCullough, Patricia Ann Ruff Smith (Jimmy), Jackie Ruff Tate,  Barbara Ann Ruff, Van Burton, Brenda Nash Ceballos, Rhonda Byrd, Delores Byrd. Three brothers, David Junior Nash (Carlotta), Bishop Alfred Lee Nash (Renee), Oliver Byrd (Julianetta). He also leaves special cousins Adlia Nichols, Darryl Nichols, Ravon Nichols, Willie Strain. Close friends, Ivan Hogan, Timothy Wallace, and hosts of nieces, nephews, and other friends.
