Clyde Joseph Young, was the eleventh of eleven children born to Sam B. Young, Sr. and Mary C. Byers Young in Mooresville, North Carolina. He peacefully entered eternal rest on Monday, August 20, 2018, at 6:00 a.m., at the VA Hospice Center, Salisbury, NC. He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers: Jessie Young, Roy Young, Walter Jay Young, Zollie Young, and Sam Young, Jr.; five sisters: Isabell Y. Phillips, Vernie Mae Y. Gates, Bernice Y. Campbell, Alice Y. Graham and Ruby Y. Lytle. Mr. Young was born June 29, 1931, in Mooresville, North Carolina, where he attended Dunbar School. He was a veteran of the United states Army and served in Germany. He joined St. James Baptist Church at an early age and served as trustee and deacon. In later years, he joined Campbell's Missionary Baptist Church, where he continued to serve. Mr. Young was married to Annie Reid Young, who preceded him in death and to this union two children were born; Beatrice Loretta Young and Zollie Carlton "Randy" Young. He leaves to mourn and cherish fond memories his wife, Hilda Campbell Young of the home; three daughters, Beatrice Y. Lowe and Stephanie T. Young of Mooresville, NC, and Deon Campbell of Statesville, NC; two sons, Zollie Randy Young (Sylvia), and Jeffrey Campbell of Statesville, NC; two grandsons, Lavar Lowe of Mooresville, NC and Nicholas E. Ramsey of Statesville, NC; and three granddaughters, Bridgett L. Forbes (Charlie) of Raleigh, NC, Sherelle Ramsey Vines of Statesville, NC, and Cha'Yana McGee of the home, and eight great-grandchildren. Lavar Lowe was a special grandson and Ervin Phillips was a special nephew. A host of other nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends also survive.
