Mrs. Cordelia Elizabeth Phifer was born in Mooresville, NC on December 21, 1951 to the late Robert Ralph Campbell and Matilda Reid Campbell. She departed this life on Wednesday, August 20,2025 at Atrium Health Lake Norman in Cornelius, NC.
She attended Dunbar High School and graduated from Mooresville Sr. High School. She was employed by Mooresville Graded School District where she worked as a Kindergarten Teacher Assistant for 17 years. She was a lifelong faithful and devoted member of Reid's Memorial Presbyterian Church in Mooresville where she served as Clerk of Session, President of the Women's Council and Leader of Vacation Bible School. She enjoyed singing in the choir and playing keyboard on Sunday mornings.
She was preceded in death by her three brothers; Allen Campbell, Ralph Campbell, and Conrad Campbell.
Cordelia leaves to cherish the memory of her life, her husband, Bennett Phifer of 49 years; one son, Gregory Phifer (Carrie) of Olin, NC; one daughter, April Phifer of Mooresville, NC; and one brother Leonard Campbell (Debra) of Troutman, NC. She also leaves four grandchildren; Taylor Phifer, Austin Phifer, Micah Shuford, and Noah Kennerly; four great-grandchildren, Ava Phifer, Brady Phifer, Jordan Phifer, and Berkleigh Phifer; two very special sisters-in-law, Elain Thorpe, and Sheila Farmer both of Greensboro, NC. Also left to cherish memories of her life are her nieces, nephews, cousins, and three very special friends who were more like sisters; Belinda Huntley, Bonita Clark, and Stephanie bowman, along with a special cousin who was more like a brother, Franklin Campbell.
