Mr. Cornell Hunsucker was born on November 11, 1965, to Floyd Smith and Hollis Hunsucker Moore. He peacefully departed this life on June 26, 2026.
Cornell was a fun-loving man whose warm personality and sense of humor brought joy to those around him. He graduated from North Mecklenburg High School and was a dedicated, hardworking individual. Throughout his career, he was employed for many years as a butcher and later as a forklift driver, where he was known for his strong work ethic and reliability.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Sarah Hunsucker and Wimberley Hunsucker, and his brother, Floyd Smith, Jr.
Cornell leaves to cherish his precious memories his loving mother, Hollis Hunsucker Moore; his devoted stepfather, Robert “Papa” Moore; father Floyd Smith, Sr. his siblings, Mark Hunsucker (Niecy), Cedric Moore (Nicole), and Karen Smith; his beloved children, Ambi Hunsucker Zaki (Hesham), Erica Toombs, and Brion Hunsucker; and his cherished grandchildren, Serenity, Trinity, Landon, and Jena.
He is also survived by his aunt, Belinda Remsey; his nephews, Jarrin, Christopher, Caleb, Zadyn and Cyheir; his nieces, Keyerra, Sydney, Madison, Lauren and Kamia; great nieces Tori and Jade; along with a host of other loving relatives and dear friends who will forever treasure the memories they shared with him.
Though Cornell’s earthly journey has ended, the love he gave and the memories he created will remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
