Darrell Wellington Caldwell, 58, passed away peacefully on Saturday May 20th, 2023, with his family lovingly by his side. He was born December 13th,1964 to Carolyn Caldwell and the late Donald Caldwell, Darrell lived his life in Mooresville, NC.
After graduating from Mooresville Senior High School, he went on to Virginia State University to continue his education and play football. Darrell was strong willed and stubborn at times, but he also had an enormous heart and wonderful sense of humor. He was generous, loyal, and brave. He was clever and full to the brim with knowledge gained through all of his life experiences. His hobbies included fishing, and cooking.
He will be remembered for all the heart he shared with his friends and family. He truly loved each of them and if you knew him, you knew it. He will be missed dearly.
Darrell is preceded in death by his father Donald Caldwell and grandparents.
Darrell is survived by; his mother Carolyn Hunter; brothers Belvin Sherrill, Andy Sherrill, and Donald Caldwell; sister, Kathy Caldwell; he is also survived by his six children; Myrone Rickett, Cherelle Turner, Deshika Banos, Namon Robinson, Amir Pickens, and Dasia Hill. He also leaves seven grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
