Dely Hernandez Connor-Parrish was born December 2nd, 1957 at Good Samaritan Hospital Charlotte NC. Dely went to be with the Lord March 19, 2023 at Novant Health Medical Center. She was born to the late Eva Colene Brice Connor and Louis William Connor.

Dely graduated from North Mecklenburg High School in 1975 and went on to pursue a degree at Gardner- Webb University (Formerly Gardner-Webb College ) located in Boiling Springs, NC. This is where she met the love of her life Tommy Parrish. She graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Social Work and Received second Bachelors in early childhood development. Dely went on to pursue a career as an educator where she spent many years in the Charlotte Mecklenburg School System teaching K-3. Upon retiring from CMS she continued a career in education working with her Aunt Allean Connor for many years, where she was the Assistant Director of Curriculum.  During this time she was also a faithful member of Ossie B Ferguson order of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed playing the piano and singing with her family. She attended Hunters Chapel United Methodist Church her whole life where she was the piano player from the ages of 11 to 43 along with playing at Faith United Methodist and Morrows Chapel for many years.

Dely married her husband Tommy in 1981 and to that union 2 children were born. Daughter Natalie Johann Parrish and son Joshua Matthew Parrish. Dely and Tommy were married for 41 years and would have celebrated their 42nd wedding anniversary July 25th, 2023.  She enjoyed spending time with each her kids and always leaving us with a laugh a smart comment or two.  Terrence Jr and N’Terriah, you know for a fact Grandma loved you both with every fiber of her being. You both were here pride and joy.

Dely was a kind hearted, sweet, intelligent and a loyal wife, mother, and grand mother. She enjoyed teaching her granddaughter how to read and write , laughing and joking with her grandson Terrence, Bub as she called him ; and simply just keeping us all grounded and strong. She reminded us all daily to pray, prepare and don’t ever give up and definitely don’t give in. No mater how hard times got Dely always stood strong on her faith and kept a positive attitude even when those around her didn’t. She stood strong on her morals and values instilled in her by her Mother and Father. She loved everybody she came in contact with and they truly loved her. Dely never thought it was too late to repair relationships because that builds character and builds faith that better days lie ahead.
