Diane Kerns Thompson was born in Mooresville, NC to the late William Junius Kerns and Mamie Turner Kerns, on March 8, 1952. She was preceded in death by her brother William “Spot” Kerns. She accepted the invitation from God to return to His heavenly home on Tuesday, October 29, 2019. Diane was educated at Torrence-Lytle High School in Huntersville, NC and gradu-ated from North Mecklenburg High School in 1970. She was a member of Chapel Hill Missionary Baptist Church where she served church clerk, secretary, and a member of the women’s choir. She retired as a result of her previous illness. She worked at General Time, IBM, Solectron, and Allstate. She was a tech savvy person and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.She leaves to cherish: her daughter, Camille Thompson of Concord, NC; four sis-ters, Barbara Smith (Ferman) of Huntersville, NC, Hazel Smith, Pearl Knox, and Carolyn McCoy (Ernest) of Charlotte, NC; three grandchildren, Anquinnette Lewis of Durham, NC, Steffanie Lewis and Darius Chambers of Concord, NC; and one great-grandchild, Railyn Mason; two favorite cousins: Betty Caldwell and Pauline Caldwell of Huntersville, NC; one adopted sister, Anne Richardson of Charlotte, NC; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relative and friends.
