Dorthene Allison-Clark Obituary

Ms. Dorthene Allison-Clark (Dot), daughter of the late Ernest Glenn Allison, Sr. and the late Annie Baitey Allison, was born in Statesville, NC on November 2, 1938. She transitioned to her new address, Heaven, on March 27, 2021 at Davis Regional Medical Center following an extended illness.

She is a graduate of Unity High School in Statesville, NC where she was known as a student leader; she served as the Student Body President her senior year. She was a member of the Family Church, South Iredell A.M.E. Zion Church in Troutman, NC, and her pastor was Reverend Bobbi Samuels.

She was preceded in death by her two brothers, Charles Edward and Ernest Glenn Allison, Jr, and her husband, Charles Clark.

She gained a second family, the ElderCare Center staff members, because they provided remarkable loving and engaging care for her Monday through Friday while her daughter worked full time. Dot or Ms. Dot, as they called her, was a client at the Center for 22 years. She was crowned the Queen of the ElderCare Center in 2019 during her 20th Anniversary Celebration.

Dorthene leaves to celebrate and remember her life, her four children, Cintonya Allison-Somerville (the late Joseph, Jr.) of Germantown MD, Mamie Houston (Todd) of the home, Anthony Allison (Shelia) of Charlotte, NC, and Shandra Allison of Greensboro, NC; four sisters, Annie Smith, Julia Allison, and Alberta Allison of Troutman, NC and Mamie Walker (the late Dr. William Paul) of Adelphi, Md; her grandchildren, Shashana and Mauricus Wilson, Shadaria Allison, Quinton Douglas Milton Sanders, Jr. (Stephanie) all of Greensboro, NC, Christina and Marcus Somerville of Germantown, MD, Jasmine and Danielle Houston, Kashauna Houston (Julius) all of Charlotte, NC, Demetric Sanders (Jasmine) of Dublin, Ohio; her eight great grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews, cousins, other relatives, the South Iredell Church Family, the ElderCare Center Staff, and friends.
