Ms. Emma Jean Brooks Wilson was born to the late Rev. Vanderbuilt Brooks and Nettie Stockton on January 22, 1939. She departed this life December 22, 2024 at her home surrounded by her family in Mooresville North Carolina.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister Toy Houston, and brothers Harvey Lee Stockton and Louis Stockton.
Emma was a graduate of the Dunbar school and later she attended A&T State University. Although she worked at Burlington Mills, and Cannon Mills for several years her heart and passion was raising her children. She was fully devoted to her family, grands, great grands, and great great grandchildren.
Emma Jean Wilson was a believer of the Lord Jesus Christ. Her heart towards her family and to those she ran into she demonstrated the love of Christ. Her family was her ministry. She served faithfully. Loving people and restoring them until they could survive on their own. Her doors were always open.
She leaves to cherish fond memories of her life; her daughters Tracy Wilson Miller, and June Wilson-Potts (Gary) of Mooresville, NC; two sons, Joseph A. Wilson III, and Stacey L. Wilson (Regina) of Mooresville, NC; one sister, Betty Jean Stockton Beatty (Rev. Terry Beatty) of Cornelius, North Carolina: thirteen grandchildren: Tamiara, Marcus, LaTonda, LaShonda, Nakivin, Leah, Ian, Chelsea, Jasmine, Stacey Jr., Alexus, Adam, and Brianna. 18 great grands, and 3 great-great grandchildren. She also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
