Eric Eugene Goodson was born November 20th, 1966, to Ila Yvonne Patterson and Eugene Goodson in Brooklyn, New York. His mother preceded him in death.
Eric was educated in the New York City school system. He attended Public School
P.S. 44, Junior High School 258 and Boys and Girls High School.
Eric was a dedicated and loving father. He is survived by his daughter, Christine, whom he loved and cherished, and his grandchildren, Alannie and Ethan. He truly loved his mother and siblings very much. He worked as a courier for 15 years so that he can provide for his daughter and helped his mother whenever she needed. Eric was also a good friend and brother to the guys he grew up with since they were all youngsters.
Eric was a true sports fan when he was younger. He enjoyed playing basketball and was very fast on the basketball court. He truly enjoyed watching basketball and football on T.V. He also enjoyed playing pool and dominoes while listening to old school rap and R&B music. Although Eric was very quiet, he loved to laugh and listen to his nephew, Laquan, and hang out with friends telling jokes. Being around his family and friends during the holiday season gave him such joy. Growing up and throughout the years, he loved our annual trips to North Carolina to visit our extended family, our family reunions and many cookouts.
Yes, Eric was a fighter to the very end and never gave up. He had re-dedicated his life to Jesus Christ which gave him such a peace.
Eric slipped away into eternity on February 4th. To cherish his memory, he leaves behind his daughter, Christine Cox; two grandchildren: Alannie Mohammad and Ethan Mohammad; two sisters: Glenda Collins and Sandra Roberts; brother-in-law Gary Roberts, brother Richard Bush, his nephew, Laquan Williams, his niece, Alyssa Cloud and great-niece, Alana Cloud; four uncles: Spencer Patterson, Raymond Patterson, Bernard Patterson, Senix Patterson; an aunt, Doris Cloud, a host of cousins and his two best friends, Craig Simon and Dave McCray.
