Mr. Eugene McCorkle was born in Iredell County, North Carolina, to the late Hubert and Creola Osborne McCorkle, January 13, 1954. He attended the Iredell County Schools. He was last employed with Crouch Brothers House Moving Company, as a house mover. He previously worked at Cannon Mills, Kannapolis, North Carolina. Eugene was preceded in death by his wife, Kathleen Maxwell McCorkle. He leaves to cherish the many memories of his life to three daughters; Shirley Jean McCorkle of Raleigh, North Carolina, Janet Drye Jordan (Twan) of Kannapolis, North Carolina, and Sandra Rene McCorkle of Statesville, North Carolina, and one son, Martin Luther Drye (Stephanie) of Kannapolis, North Carolina; four sisters, Patricia McCorkle of Mooresville, North Carolina, Shelia Williams (Willie) of Mooresville, North Carolina, Gail Collins of Mooresville, North Carolina, and Mae Settles (Clarence) of Montgomery Village, Maryland; five brothers, Leonard McCorkle of Kannapolis, North Carolina, Michael McCorkle of Davidson, North Carolina, Tommy McCorkle of Concord, North Carolina, Walter McCorkle (Brenda) and Kermit “Earl” McCorkle of Mooresville, North Carolina; twenty one grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren. A host of other relatives and friends also survive.
