Mrs. Eva Louise Caldwell Cornelius was born April 14, 1934, Mooresville, North Carolina, to the late Waddell Caldwell and Bolivia Burton Caldwell. Eva departed this earthly life on Tuesday night at home surrounded by her son and family, July 26, 2022, at the age of 88 years.
She attended school in the Iredell County School System, graduating from Dunbar High School, Mooresville, North Carolina.
She married the love of her life Earl Cornelius, and they were married for over fifty years. They spent most of their adult life in Elizabeth, New Jersey.
Upon returning to North Carolina she joined New Life Missionary Baptist Church, Troutman, NC where she served on the Missionary Ministry, Pastor’s Aide and was the President of the Planning Committee.
Eva was preceded in death in addition to her parents, her husband Earl Cornelius, four brothers, Henry Clay Caldwell, Ernest Lee Caldwell, Alfred (Sonny) Caldwell and Mitchell Caldwell, four sisters, Virginia Knox, Corie (Concelet) Walters, Ruth Kerns and Ann Cowan.
Eva leaves to cherish a son Derrick Andrew Cornelius of the home. One brother Clinton Caldwell (Faye) of Mooresville, NC. Special nieces, Seri Andersen of Troutman, NC, great niece Katika Heaggans (Cory) of Statesville, NC, granddaughter, Shamia Blount of Villa Rica, GA, two sisters in law, Daisy C. Bryant and Nellie C. Work of Statesville, NC; and one brother in law, Dennis Long of Denver, NC. A special friend Mrs. Barbra Wright of Mableton, GA. and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
