Ezra Joe Lewis Logan was called into eternal life on January 26, 2020. Joe Logan as everyone knew him was born on September 25, 1935 to the late Ezra Logan and Texas Bright of Rutherfordton County, NC.
He attended Rutherfordton County Schools where he received his high school diploma. Joe joined St. John Baptist Church in Rutherfordton County at an early age where he was baptized. He served in the U.S. Army from 1958 until 1964. Joe Logan retired from Lowes Home Improvement and later went to work for Colonial Materials for a number of years. Joe resided in Charlotte, NC until passing at Atrium Hospital, University site on January 26, 2020. He was a simple man with a heart of gold. Joe will be remembered as a kind and humble soul and will be sadly missed by his family and many friends.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents and his aunt, Ella Freeman, who raised him after his mother’s death, his sisters, Virginia Davis, Dorothy Proctor, Gertrude Ward and one brother, Roy Logan.
He leaves to cherish loving memories: his wife, Joan Stinson Logan, daughter, Dakota Nelson (Lee) of Charlotte, NC, one step-daughter, Cynthia McGriff (James, Sr.) of Charlotte, NC, one step-son, Darrin Stinson of Wake Forest, NC, 15 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, a special nephew, Eric Freeman of Lake Lure, NC, three brothers-in-law, Wilson Stinson (Patricia) of Davidson, NC, Ronnie Stinson (Jackie) of Stanley, NC, Michael Stinson of Charlotte, NC; one sister-in-law, Corliss Stinson of Cornelius, NC and host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
