Mr. Gaston Tuck, Jr., 91, of Mount Mourne, NC passed away at S. Mitchell Mack Hospice House in Mooresville, NC on Saturday, July 15, 2023. He was born in Statesville, NC on September 24, 1931. He was the son of Gaston Tuck, Sr. and Ruth Alexander Tuck. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Novella C. Tuck, son Ronald Tuck, daughter-in-law Yuleene Tuck, two brothers Odell Tuck and Tommy Tuck, two sisters Helen Tuck Robertson and Elizabeth Torrence and granddaughter Raysheena Tuck.
He attended Morningside High School in Statesville, NC where he enjoyed playing football.
He believed in hard work. He worked at The Chesapeake and Potomac Telephone Company, The Washington Post Newspaper in Washington, DC and Davidson College in Davidson, NC. Mr. Tuck retired from each of these companies.
While living in Washington, DC and Maryland he was a member of New Zion Pentecostal Church in Washington, DC. When he returned to North Carolina he joined Morrows Chapel United Methodist Church and was a devoted member, having served as the Chairman of Trustee Board, a member of the United Methodist Men, Chairman of the Outreach Program, and a member of the Men’s Choir.
Mr. Tuck married the love of his life Novella C. Tuck April 13, 1951. They loved doing things together, going to church, visiting others especially the sick and shut-in, inviting others to their home, and traveling with family and friends. He also liked fishing and watching football (Redskins & Carolina Panthers). To this union four children were born: Jean C. Mayo, Donald P. Tuck (Mary Francis), Diane R. Tuck and Ronald E. Tuck (Yuleene) both deceased. He was a loving caring husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, nephew and friend.
He leaves to continue his legacy, seven grandchildren: Raimondo Tuck, Antonio Tuck, Sheneeka Tuck, Celina Tuck (Darrell), Cy-erra Tuck, Ronald Tuck, Jr., and Selena Luckey; seven great-grandchildren: Orlando Reid, Raimondo Tuck, Jr., Keqshawn Withers, Zamari Withers, James Drayton, Key-Laya Tuck, and John W. Krider III, two Great-great-grandchildren Ian T. Fulton and Journey Centeno. One sister-in- law Carrie Horne (James) and one brother-in-law Freddie Miller, Sr.; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other family members and friends. He had four special friends Percell Vanderburg, Dennis Long, Matt, and Frank Knox.
