Gazella (Robertson) Howard

It is with profound sadness that the family of Gazella Robertson Howard announces her peaceful passing on Sunday,September 7, 2005, at the age of 67 years old.

Gazella was the beloved daughter of Vera Anne Gabriel and the late Robert Robertson Sr. born on August 20, 1958, in Mooresville, NC. Gazella’s life was a testament to strength, grace, and unwavering devotion. Gazella leaves behind a legacy of striving for excellence, caring for others, and living life with passion and purpose. Her memory will forever inspire all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her former husband, Clarence William Howard Jr., her Father, Robert Robertson Sr., and her niece, Tiara Gabriel. 

Gazella is survived by her daughters, Vakeithea “Dee” Robertson (Charles Turner), Gaynelle Howard, and Shauntrell Howard (Shelton Forney Jr.); her Mother, Vera Robertson; brothers, Vernon Gabriel (Sharon), Robert Robertson Jr. (Deborah); aunts, Lula Mae McNeely (James), Hazelyne Robinson and Vivian Robinson (Hampton); uncle, Hampton Robinson; grandchildren, Shyasia Turner, Ryleigh Howard, and Remi Jones; niece, Lativia Brown; nephews, Damion Forney and Calvin Robertson; special friends Mary Snead, Linda Forney, Barbara Amos, and Ball, along with a host of family and friends.  

Her spirit, love, and laughter will forever remain in the hearts of those she touched. May her soul rest in eternal peace.

To celebrate Gazella’s life, her service will be held on Saturday, September 20, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at Hunters Chapel United Methodist Church, 18423 John Connor Road, Cornelius, North Carolina. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at 12:00 p.m. In lieu of traditional mourning, we request the joy of your presence in her favorite color red, a reflection of Gazella’s vibrant spirit.
