George Wilson Sr.

Mr. George Wilson, Sr. was born September 8, 1925 in Iredell County, NC to the late Archie Wilson and Jennie Patterson Wilson. He transitioned peacefully Sunday, July 30, 2023 at the Gordon Hospice House in Statesville, NC.

    George attended the Iredell County School System. He was a member of Mt. Tabor Presbyterian Church, Cleveland, NC. George was a member of the Presbyterian Men, and also a member of the Trustee Board.

    He was employed with Burlington Textile Mills for many years until retirement. George then was a driver for Terry’s Taxi’s for 19 years. He was also a member of the Elks Lodge.

    Mr. George was a people person and an honest and kind man who never met a stranger- a true jokester. He attended the Senior Program at Faith United Methodist Church where he was truly a joy to the group.

    George was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Anna Wilson; two brothers, James Wilson, and Mason Wilson; a sister Ada Torrence; and a stepdaughter, Johnnie Mae Rucker.
