Mr. Henry Alexander Smith was called from this earthly life to rest by the Almighty God in his Infinite Wisdom January 16, 2022 at Novant Presbyterian Medical Center. He was born June 13, 1931 in Mecklenburg County to the late Allie Mae Smith and the late Hubbard Smith in Davidson, NC.
Henry was educated in the Mecklenburg County School Systems and was formerly employed at Exposaic Industries, Inc. as a Certified Welder. He was a former member of Gethsemane Baptist Church where he was a part of the Usher Board. Henry has been a member of the Williams Lodge 176 A.F. & A.M. in Cornelius, NC since 1965.
Henry had a humble spirit and loving heart. He loved his grandchildren and they could never do any wrong. Henry was a great bowler and belonged to several leagues. He sang gospel music with a few quartets. Henry was an avid sports fan, he loved the Atlanta Braves, Carolina Panthers, and the Charlotte Hornets. He especially loved to eat, and drink his favorite coffee. Henry had a special love for his furry friend Coco.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Maggie W. Smith; three brothers, Herbert Smith, Ferman Eugene Smith, and Charles Smith.
He leaves to cherish his fond memories; one son, Milton A. Smith (Kerry) of Kannapolis, NC; two daughters, Debora L. White, and Latasha S. Nelson (Ben) of Charlotte, NC; three grandchildren, Cedric J. Smith (Yolonda) of Kannapolis, NC, Jamarius Eaves, and Jamia Smith both of Charlotte, NC; three great grandsons, Ayden C. Smith of Fort Mill, SC, Jaxon Alexander Dodd of Charlotte, NC, Kaydin Reid of Kannapolis, NC; one great granddaughter, DaLoni Smith of Kannapolis, NC; six sisters-in-law, Barbara Smith, Dorothy Smith both of Huntersville, NC, Maggie B. Smith of Charlotte, NC, Ruth Smith of Salisbury, NC, Dr. Elaine Greene (Jackie) of High Point, NC, Sue Wilson of Charlotte, NC; and three brothers-in-law, Thomas R. Wilson Jr. (Irene) and Cecil E. Wilson (Carolyn) both of Salisbury, NC, and Tony C. Wilson (Priscilla) of China Grove, NC; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
