Jackie Levon Moore transitioned from this life to eternal life on May 24, 2023, at his home in Charlotte, North Carolina. He was born on March 14, 1952, in Iredell County, NC, to the late Limon and Emma Gladys McCombs Moore. He was also preceded in death by his beloved brother Kenneth Alexander (Ken) Moore.
He attended the Catawba County Schools where he was a star basketball player at Bandy’s High School. He married his high school love, Debra Caldwell on March 4, 1972. They went on to become the adoring parents of one child, Natasha Danielle.
Jackie was a very committed family man, working tirelessly to ensure that his wife and child were secure and happy. He was employed with Celanese Corporation for 25 years and Rutland Chemical Company for 15 years. He became a member of Union Bethel A.M.E. Zion Church following his marriage. He loved this church of which he was a dedicated and active member for many years. He was a member of the Contemporary Choir, and he worked on the Steward and Trustee Boards for many years.
He leaves to cherish fond memories: his wife, Debra of the home, daughter, Natasha Moore-Melvin (David) of Harrisburg, NC; two grandsons: Aaron and Isaiah Moore of Charlotte, NC; five siblings: Billy Ray (Wanda) of Landover, MD, Charles Lewis (Cathy) of Hickory, NC, Shelia Marcine Connor of Sherrills Ford, NC and Kevin Ricky (Linda) of Jacksonville, FLA. In-laws: Emma Moore, wife of Ken Moore of Sherrills Ford, NC; Claudette King of Atlanta, GA, Loretta Brandon of Charlotte, NC, Delores Williams of Cornelius, NC, Clement Caldwell and Rev. Shelia Sherrill of Huntersville, NC. Two special daughters: Willette Carrington and Dawn McDuffie. Nephews and nieces: Tony, Valerie, Tonya, Emil, Trina, Michael, Jeff (deceased), Cheryl, Dorinda, Bernadette, Kiwesa, Rhonda, Ernie, Patrick, Lisa, Wesley, Jamie, Helen, Chi-Tim, Derrick, Karema, and Candis as well as a host of cousins, great nephews, and great nieces. He had many friends and relatives that he held dear, but it would be impossible to name them all in this space. Just know that he loved you all.
