James Allen Blackwood, affectionately known as Ollie , went home to be with the Lord on Monday, August 30, 2021.He was born September 27, 1946 in Iredell County to the late William Bus Blackwood and Annie May Blackwood.
He attended Unity High School. He retired from the Town of Mooresville where he had worked for many years. He then worked for Jack B Woolen as a driver.
Ollie was a faithful member of Shinnsville United Church of Christ for over 30 years. He sung with the Voices of Victory along with his wife, and served on the Deacon and Trustee Boards. He enjoyed fishing, playing golf, and pool.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife Virgina Winford Blackwood; parents; William and Annie May Blackwood; brothers; John Blackwood and Dennis Blackwood; sister, Ethel Mills; and daughter, Paris Floyd.
He leave to cherish his memories, his son; James (Marnita) Carr of Mooresville, NC, daughters; Tandra Blackwood of Mocksville, NC, Kimberly Blackwood of Mooresville, NC, LaVern Blackwood, and Jamie Fuller of Mooresville, NC; stepsons; Cameron Winford (Jennifer) of Woodleaf, NC, Larry Brandon of Jacksonville, FL, and Cory Brandon of Mooresville, NC. He also leaves his sisters; Judy Lawrence, Azalea Blackwood, Ruth McLaughlin, Linda (Michael) Sanders, brothers; Gary (Annetta) Blackwood, Tony (Jackie) Blackwood, and Kevin Blackwood, a number of grands, great grands, and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
