James O'Neal Donaldson

Rev. James O’Neal Donaldson, son of Sybil    Donaldson, and the late James Douglas Fleming, was born February 10, 1970 in Mecklenburg County, NC. He peacefully departed this life Thursday, April 10, 2025 at the Novant Health Hospital, Huntersville, NC.

James was a graduate of North Mecklenburg High School in 1988. He continued his education at Liberty University of Virginia and received his Master of Theology Degree.

He became a Chaplain after finishing  his externship for Novant Health , Forsyth Co. James was a Chef for many years at various restaurants including Mythos at Universal Studios in Orlando, FL, and finished his career as an Informational Technology Specialist for Spectrum of Charlotte, NC.

He was a dedicated member of the Deeper Life Reformed Church of Charlotte, NC serving the church to the best of his ability.

James is survived by his loving wife, Shana K. Donaldson of the home, two children, Kianna Knox of Kannapolis, NC, and Tatyana Donaldson of Davidson, NC; his mother, Sybil Donaldson of Davidson, NC; four sisters Ditra Denny of Davidson, NC; Michelle Caldwell, Brandie Fleming, and Danielle Fleming all of Charlotte, NC, his granddaughter, Imani Knox as well as niece, Jayme Fleming and nephew, Jaylin Caldwell; two special Great-aunts, Bernice Houston and Henrietta Howey; and a host of other relatives and friends.
