James Arnold Gunnings Sr.

Deacon James Arnold Gunning Sr. was born March 15, 1952 to the late Calhazel and Annie Bryd Gunnings in Gastonia North Carolina. James was the fifth of seven children. He departed this life April 28, 2021 at the age of 69 in Mooresville, North Carolina.

A husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, he attended C F Middle School and Dallas High School in Dallas, NC. He also served in the United States Army as a Private First-Class Soldier. Deacon Gunnings was wed to Eva Gunnings and to this union one son, James Gunnings Jr., and a stepson Tyrone Studervant

Deacon James Gunnings Sr has been a member of the Living Church Ministries since 2015. He was consecrated a Deacon in November 2019. Before consecration, he was very attentive and helpful in assuring that the church business was adequately done. Many awoke each morning to an encouraging word from the Bible as he loved sharing daily scriptures with family, friends, and everyone he could.

He dearly loved and highly respected his parents who preceded him in death, Calhazel and Annie Gunnings. Also preceding him was his baby brother, Billy Gunnings.

He leaves to cherish his memory memories Eva Gunnings, son: James Gunnings Jr. of Mooresville, NC. and stepson: Tyrone Studervent, His grandchildren: James Arnold Gunnings III, Isaiah DeHondre’ Knox, Zykia Divine Bailey, Ezekiel Devante Gunnings, Journee LaRaye Gunnings, His brothers and sisters: Richard Gunnings, Raymond Gunnings both of Gastonia, NC, twins, Laura McCoy of Laurinburg, North Carolina, and Linda Yeldell (J.V.), Anna Gunnings both of Gastonia NC and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, relatives and friends.
