James David Jones

James David Jones “JD”, at age 68, transitioned from this life to eternal life on May 3, 2021 at Atrium Health University Hospital. He was born May 16, 1952, in Gaston County to the late Mr. PJ and Elizabeth Sally Jones.

He attended Catawba County Schools and was employed at Reeves Brothers for almost ten years. JD later started his own car detailing service where he took pride in washing cars. JD loved hanging with his family, friends, and cooking. His favorite football team was the Dallas Cowboys. He loved watching the western TV shows and also enjoyed drag racing. In his spare time, he loved to color and would refuse to go anywhere without his hat or shades.

He attended service at Huntersville Oaks and  went to service each Sunday morning. He dedicated his life to Jesus Christ and loved him dearly!

He was preceded in death by his brother Donnie Jones and bonus son Arteze McCain.

He leaves to cherish his memory: his son, Kelsey “Boomer” McCain (special friend Taura Jones) of Charlotte, North Carolina; two daughters; Myra Blake of Gastonia, North Carolina and Charity Alexander of Mooresville, North Carolina, and bonus son Sheldon Donaldson (La-Kisha); two siblings James Samuel Jones of Charlotte, North Carolina and Ida Blakeney (David) of Charlotte, North Carolina; aunts; Doris Sykes (William) of Stanley, North Carolina, Delia House of Lincolnton, North Carolina , Betty Jones of Charlotte, North Carolina; Grandchildren; Kimora Froneberger, Rev Chris Alexander, Jalen Donaldson, Jace Donaldson, Skyz Carr a host of nephews, nieces, and cousins, with a very close friend his brother-in-law David Blakeney and his friend Jackie Moore.
