Ms. Jessie Inez Harris, 88, of Troutman, NC she gained her eternal wings on Friday, January 22, 2021 she was born on July 9, 1932 to the late Charlie and Amelia Berry Harris of Iredell County, North Carolina.
Jessie was an active and faithful member of Shinnsville United Church of Christ until her health began to fail. She was affectionately known as “Aunt Granny” and was known for her outspokenness. She was a great joy to be around and she devoted much of her time and energy to her family and friends. She loved to make people laugh; there was never a dull moment with her.
She was proceeded in death by her daughter Vanessa Bines and grandson (she reared as her son) Vincent Jerrod Harris. Jessie was one of fifteen children; her four brothers and eight sisters proceeded her in death: Charles, Sam, Guy Lynn, and Charlie Harris, Hazel Harrington, Myrtle Torrence, Mattie Harris, Elizabeth Harris, Annie Ramsey, Mildred King, Pearl Harrington and Dorothy Cornelius.
Jessie leaves to cherish her fond memories to one granddaughter, Pearlie Bines Hill of Charlotte NC, and one grandson, Isaac Binds of Statesville NC, one sister, Mabel Harris of Troutman, NC, one brother, Hubert Harris of Troutman NC, three great- grandchildren: Devonte Hill, Jesse Hill and Serenity Jones, one great- great grandchild Legacy Smith and two nieces that she helped rear Sharon (Robin) Stewart of Troutman NC and Sherri Harris Robinson of Kannapolis, NC, six nephews she helped rear, Robert (Brenda) Harris of Mooresville NC, Darrell (Sonya) Harris of Salisbury NC, Steve (Sonya) Harris of Concord NC, Barry Harris of Wilmington NC, Sherman Harris of Troutman NC, Jarvis Harris of Charlotte NC and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins that she loved tremendously.
