Sister Joe Ann Bethea, daughter of the late Worth McClelland and Annie Mae Williams Inman, was born on October 20, 1949 in Dillon County, South Carolina. She was united in marriage to the late Willie B. Bethea. She departed this life on Saturday, January 12, 2019 at Davis Regional Medical Center in Statesville, North Carolina. Sister Joe Ann received her education in the Dillon County Public School System and graduated from Gordon High School. She was an active member of Morrow’s Chapel United Methodist Church. Sister Joe Ann was on the Trustee Board, Usher Board. She was a Communion Steward, Superintendent of Sunday School, a member of the PPRC committee, a member of the United Methodist Women Organization (UMW), and also a choir member. Sister Joe Ann was preceded in death by one son, Willie James Bethea, three sisters; Mrs. Arnetha Johnson, Mrs. Elizabeth Carmichael, and Mrs. Mae Helen McLaurin, and brothers; Robert Inman, Eddie Inman, and Ernest Inman. Sister Joe Ann leaves to cherish her memories, three children; Desiree (Steven) Bethea of Dillon, SC, Felicia (Josh) McDonald of Mooresville, NC, and Melvin McDonald of Mooresville, NC; seven grandchildren; three sisters, Doris (Henry) Graham of Fairmont, NC, Irene Paige of Dillon, SC, and Shirley Miles of Fayetteville, NC ; two brothers, David Inman of Dillon, SC; Marvin (Marie) McClelland of Lanham, MD; two sisters-in-law; Gracie Inman of Dillon, SC and Madgeline McClelland of Dillon, SC.
