Joseph Alexander Bailey departed this life on the morning of August 11, 2020 at Gordons Hospice House in Statesville with his wife by his side. He gently in his sleep went to be with his Lord and Savior. Joseph was loving known by those that loved him as Joe.
He was born on July 21st, 1944, in Iredell County, NC to the late Armice Bailey & Beatrice Shuford. Joseph was graduated of Dunbar high school in Mooresville North Carolina. Joe worked mainly in textile companies as a machine operator at Burlington and Cannon Mills. Joseph attended Shinnsville United Church of Christ where he was a deacon and an usher until he became sick. Joe still find time to call and check on those that were sick even when he was down.
Joe's life and memories will be forever cherished by his wife of 41 years Marietta Johnson Bailey of Mooresville, NC; three children Tomika Snyder (Jonathan) of Statesville, NC, Tonesa Bailey, Mooresville; Derrick Price of Syracuse, NY; seven grandchildren, Serina Bailey, Giovanni Snyder, Lucas Snyder, Jackson Snyder of Statesville, NC, Eian Bailey, Kash Burts of Mooresville, NC, Derrick Price Jr of Syracuse, NY ; Sister Ann Winford (Lane) of Troutman,NC; Sister-in -laws Pearl Gantt, Helen Johnson, Doris Pryor of Andalusia, AL; Robert Johnson (Bertha) of Andalusia, AL; Walter Johnson of Montgomery, AL; Elton Johnson (Tawanda) of Rochester, NC; Bruce Johnson (Carol) of Lawrenceville, GA; and host nieces, nephews, and loved ones.
Joe was proceeded in death by his older sisters Nancy Bailey and Berthine Elizabeth “Lib” Brown who he loved.
