Joseph Alberta Wilson Jr.

Mr. Joseph Alberta Wilson Jr. was born to the late Joseph Wilson Sr. and Mary Elizabeth Reid Wilson on  October 26, 1935. He departed this life January 11, 2023 at Lake Norman Dialysis Center. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife Norris Wilson, and two sisters; Elizabeth Reid and Mildred Ann Wilson.

Joseph was a graduate of the Iredell County School System and later on A&T State University. He began laying carpet after college and went on to be the proud owner of Wilson Carpet Sales and Service until his retirement.

Joseph joined Morrows Chapel United Methodist Church at an early age and remained an active member throughout his lifetime. He served faithfully on numerous auxiliaries which included: the United Methodist Men in the capacity of Chairperson, and later on as Treasurer; he also served as Church Treasurer for many years, and former chairperson of the Trustee Board. He was a dedicated member of the Western North Carolina Mission Society.

He leaves to cherish fond memories of his life; his two daughters, Tracy Wilson Miller, and June Wilson-Potts (Gary) of Mooresville, NC; two sons, Joseph A. Wilson III, and Stacey L. Wilson of Mooresville, NC; one brother, John Wilson of Mt. Mourne, NC; twelve grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. He also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
