Mr. Kenneth Disraeli Rivens was born on November 21, 1933, in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina. He transitioned peacefully on Friday, November 22, 2024, one day after his 91st birthday.
Kenneth (Ken) Rivens was the son of the late Ausie and Essie Rivens. He was the fifth born of twelve siblings. We commemorate his childhood and life experiences through his four living siblings: Edith Summers, Gladys Henderson, Helen Connors, and Ausie Rivens; and his sister-in-law Erma Black. As in tradition, their stories will tell his joy and laughter of his life.
Kenneth attended the Mecklenburg school system. Ken was drafted into the Army where he served as a combat medic. Upon completion of his military service, he married the late Doris Rivens. He shared fond memories with his children: Ms. Robbie Watts of Vale N.C., Keno Rivens of Maury N.C., Ms. Joyce Miller Rice of Mooresville N.C., Wendell Rivens of Valdosta GA., Late Roddy Rivens of Davidson N.C., Dwayne Rivens (Lindy) of Hinesville GA., Anita Gayle Rivens of Davidson N.C., and Marvin Andre Rivens of Gastonia North Carolina. A treasure of happy memories will be left in the hearts of his fifteen grandchildren and twenty-six great grandchildren and the two great-great grandchildren.
Kenneth loved family gatherings, fast cars, playing checkers, playing dominoes, and playing cards where he taught all his children the art of trash talking with love.
