Linda Gail Fishe

Linda Gail Fishe, daughter of the late Norman A. Fishe and Lugenia McCombs Fishe was born April 24, 1947, in Sherrills Ford, NC. She transitioned peacefully on April 11, 2022, with family by her side.  She is preceded in death by her brother Gary N. Fishe.

Linda was a 1965 graduate of Catawba Rosenwald High School and was involved in many activities and clubs.  She attended North Carolina A&T State University in Greensboro, NC.  She was a faithful and dedicated member of Motts Grove United Methodist Church in Sherrills Ford, NC.  She held positions including, Administrator of Single Board Council, Administrative Chair of the General Board, Conference Delegate of Western North Carolina Conference, Chairperson of Trustees for Motts Grove United Methodist Church and Campground, Church Clerk and Historian, Representative for Racial Unity Cohort, and Chair of Transportation Renewal of Churches for Lincoln and Catawba county.

Warmly known as “Sista LG”, or “Aunt Linda”. She had an infectious and tenacious spirit that kept you close even on days when you wanted distance. Her take-charge attitude kept you on your toes, but her genuine spirit of service calmed you when you needed it the most. Physically she left a void, but her spirit remains within all of us to fill that empty space. 

Those left to cherish precious memories are her three brothers, Barry (Marjorie) and Jeryl (Antoinette) Fishe of Bowie, MD and Bryan Fishe of Mooresville, NC; two sisters, Sandra (Marvin) Massey and Norma Fishe of Charlotte, NC; two aunts, Roberta McCombs and Etta McCombs of New York; ten nieces and nephews, Gary Fishe of Columbia, SC; Sharon Clark, of Mt. Holly, NC;  Kenyatta Fishe, of Durham, NC; Miles Hammond, of Smyrna, GA; Dasan (Turnesha), Jaron, Jeryne, Jahre, and Jerlan, of Bowie, MD, and Kevin Eugene Fishe, of New York.  Along with a host of cousins, great-nieces and nephews, relatives, and friends.
