At exactly 9:30am on November 16, 2017...a tiny warrior was born. Shaolyn Noelle Scott came into this world screaming, saw her mama and winked, because she knew she was destined to do great things. How does one raise a warrior? Yolanda Scott, her mother, was soon to find out...as little Shaolyn had her very first heart surgery at 2 weeks old. A tracheostomy at 4 months, in addition to a feeding tube, was a minor setback to a warrior such as this. Shaolyn took everything in stride....every surgery and procedure, she emerged stronger than ever. Defying and defeating all obstacles thrown her way.
At home, she was a princess. The light of her mother's life, and apple of her grandmother, Eva Scott's eye. She was kind, compassionate, and meticulous. Everything had to be just so!! And for our young warrior, it was......
She never let her setbacks get the best of her. She thrived in the midst of adversity and, with her huge personality, left an impression on everyone she met. Her sense of humor was unmatched and her empathy far exceeded her 3 years. On December 19, 2020, she fought her last fight and passed away with her mother and grandmother by her side. She loved being a helper, and our hero's donated kidneys were able to help a child at Duke Hospital in Raleigh, NC.
She leaves behind a heartbroken and devastated mother, Yolanda Scott, of Huntersville, NC, grandmother Eva Scott, uncle Jaison Scott and a host of other relatives, doctors, nurses and friends. She leaves behind a void that can never be replaced, but we are grateful to have had her for her time here on Earth. Rest now, sweet girl.. You fought the good fight and we will ALWAYS love you. See you on the other side.
