Mrs. Lucille Young McCombs Moten, daughter of the late Vick and Parline Young, born on April 3, 1937 in Iredell County, NC, departed this life on Saturday, November 7, 2020 after battling a long-term illness.

Those that preceded her in death include her husbands, John Frank McCombs, and Clarence Moten; a daughter, Diane McCombs, and sons, John Frank McCombs Jr., and John Wayne McCombs; a sister, Alice Sherrill, and brothers, Floyd Young, Fred Young, and William Young.

Later, she retired from the Iredell County School System where she worked for many years.

She was a committed member of St. Paul United Methodist Church where she served in many capacities. She was an usher, M.C. of many church programs, a choir member, and a United Methodist Woman. She also had a passion for evangelism and community outreach that lead her to ministry in the judicial system, working with the Soup Kitchen, and doing missionary work in the nursing home. Lucille’s love for God and ministry lead her to help other churches such as: Faith Deliverance Church, Watkins Chapel A.M.E. Zion Church, and Glorious Church of Deliverance. She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star-Mars Chapter.
