MSgt. Marvin Henry Fennell, USAF, Retired. Marvin was the beloved eldest son of David and Gertrude McFadgen’s 8 children. He was born on August 6, 1953, in Clinton, NC. He fought a good fight, but on Saturday, January 8, 2022, God decided to send his Angels to guide Marvin to his heavenly home.
Marvin was educated in Clinton, NC public Schools. Marvin continued his academic studies at Embry-riddle Aeronautical University. In 2001 he graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Management of Technical Operations.
Marvin went on to serve his country for 24 years. 1974 – 1977 Upper Heyford England; 1977 – 1982 Eglin AFB Florida; 1982 – 1983 Suwon AB Korea; 1983 – 1986 Minot AFB North Dakota; 1986 – 1991 Clark AB Philippines; 1991 – 1992 Kadena AB Japan; 1992 – 1994 Kirtland AFB New Mexico; 1994 – 1996 Osan AB Korea; 1996 – 1998 Luke AFB Arizona. In 1998 24 years after his career began, Marvin retired from Active Duty.
After retiring from the Airforce, Marvin worked for Mesa Airlines in Phoenix Arizona for 23 years from 1998 – 2021. Marvin Retired on October 5, 2021 and was recognized for his hard work and outstanding contributions.
Preceding Marvin in death was his brother Reginald McFadgen.
Marvin leaves behind to cherish his memory, his son Sean Fennell of Minot, ND, his parents David and Gertrude McFadgen of Cornelius, NC; (1) sister, Lisa Autry of Cornelius, NC; (5) brothers; Franklin Fennell (Cynthia) of Newburgh, NY; David McFadgen Jr. (Antoinette) of Hampton, GA; Leon McFadgen, of Glen Burnie, MD; Kenneth McFadgen (Marie) of Newburgh, NY; and Brian McFadgen of Albany, NY; a host of nephews, nieces and other relatives. He also leaves a host of lifelong friends, co-workers and colleagues who adored him!
