St. Marcille Carr was born in Mecklenburg County on April 20, 1942. She took her flight to heaven on Sunday, February 21, 2021 peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born to the late Samuel and Lula Bell Sloan. She was preceded in death by her husband Fred Lee Carr and her grandson Edwin Carr.
St. Marcille Carr attended Torrence Lytle High School in Huntersville, NC. She was a homemaker and a stay-at-home mom. She started her career in 1980 at Cornelius Elementary School as a head cook in the cafeteria and she retired in 1990 from Long Creek Elementary.
St. Marcille Carr became a member of the United House of Prayer for All People at a young age when she received the holy ghost at home. St. Carr was an active faithful member; she sang on the Young Adult Choir, was the President of the Usher and Queen board for many years, she was also the Assistant Secretary, and she served on the checking and banking committee.
St. Marcille Carr leaves to cherish her loving memories one son, Vernon Carr of Winston Salem; three daughters, Betty Carr of Huntersville NC, Alfreda Carr of Charlotte NC, and Consuella Gordon (Tim) of Charlotte NC; three brothers, Samuel Sloan Jr (Cecilia) of Calhoun Falls SC, Ray Sloan of Huntersville NC, Clyde Sloan of Charlotte NC; two sisters, Doris White (George) of Cornelius NC and Velma Neal of Huntersville NC; eleven grand children,fourteen great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, a special friend Harriet Mayfield and a longtime friend Arthur Davis.
