Margaret Snelling Obituary

Margaret Mayhew Snelling was born September 12, 1929 to the late Floyd and Elizabeth Stewart Adams. Margaret transitioned and gained her wings on Tuesday, September 29, 2020.

Margaret was born in Mooresville, North Carolina. She attended school there until her family relocated to Washington D.C.. Later in life Margaret came back to Mooresville and actively attended Faith United Methodist Church. She also served her country and was a part of the United States Army.

Margaret lived her life devoted to God, her husband Mr. Herman Snelling, and the DAV (Disabled American Veterans) Auxiliary were she spent a lot of her time. She enjoyed creating scrapbooks for the Auxiliary. 

Margaret was promoted to the National Post where she would go on to contribute many hours to the VA Hospitals.

Margaret and Herman loved to travel. They would travel many miles up and down the highways to conventions and meetings for the Auxiliary. They lived a very private life together and the love they shared was unconditional. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters; Betty Jean McCready and Joann Carson, three brothers; Arthur Burton, Floyd Adams, and James Walter Adams.

She leaves to treasure fond & loving memories; her devoted  husband, Herman T. Snelling of the home; a step-daughter, Sabrina S Hameed, of Baltimore, Maryland; a step-son, Derrick Snelling (Nora), of Denver, Colorado; her sister, Rachel Vivian “Sis” Thorne, of District Heights, Maryland; and three grandchildren. She also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
