Mary Bost Obituary

Mary Ruth Bost, was born in Mooresville, North Carolina (Race City), on November 23, 1936, to the late Mr. Curlee and Rose Torrence Knox. Mary Ruth made her heavenly transition to our Father, peacefully on October 14, 2023, at Levine Dickson Hospice House in Huntersville, North Carolina. Mary Ruth was one of eight siblings; Billy Ralph Knox, Ivory Knox, Betty Jean Edwards, Mildred McCombs, Helen Austin, Hughline Moore, and Julianne Caldwell. Mrs. Ruth longtime sweetheart spouse, the late Willie Bost, also preceded her to death.

Mary Ruth attended Mooresville Graded School systems, where she pursued her education. In addition, Mrs. Bost was a dedicated and conscientious worker. She was a beautiful, very savvy hard worker in her previous years and decades. Mary was an employee at the former Cannon Mills for over 25 years. Mary was a strong, vocal woman with a lot of wisdom, and took care of her family that was close to her. In her spare time, she loved to spend time with her family, do yard work, fishing, and playing bingo. She especially enjoyed these hobbies with her grandson, Mr. Charles Turner, Jr., also known as Junebug in her eyes—who took phenomenal care of her throughout the years. In addition to acknowledging her daughter, Kay McCollough, who also was a big help and supportive with caring for her mother throughout the years as her health initiated to decline. Granted, those who knew Mary Ruth, know she was a notorious lady that truly love her children, family, and made sure her grandkids were well-taken care of without hesitation. She was a brave woman that spoke kind words to everyone, including strangers. After retirement Mary spent the rest of her days with grandchildren and great-grandchildren making memories and loving them.

She leaves to cherish fond memories of her life to all of her children: Gladys Knox, Robert Smith, Kay McCollough, and Grady Smith, all are from Mooresville, NC; her grandchildren, Charles Turner, Jr. (Dee, Very Special Bonus granddaughter), who is also from the home, Tonya Kirk (Mario), Deco Wilson (Late, Keno Wilson), Kayla McCullough, of Mooresville, NC, and Reggie Mills; and stepson, Raymond Bost of Charlotte, NC. Mrs. Mary Ruth had 12 great grandchildren she loved dearly and will also be missed by them; Shyasia of the home, Martavious, Latishia, Dinasia, Dallas, Reginald Jr., Lavontae, Kaylee, Layla, Rosette, Raji, and Marae. In addition, Mrs. Mary had four great-great grandchildren, a mass of nieces, nephews, and friends
