Mary was born in Davidson, North Carolina. She was the oldest of seven siblings.
After moving to Brooklyn, NY Mary met and married Oscar C. Williams (a Navy veteran) and was mother to five children. Mary had a thirst for life and for knowledge: she continued to educate herself and completed two degrees focusing on Psychology and Early Childhood Education. After raising her children, Mary left Texas and relocated to California, Mary retired in 2008 after 30 years as a teacher with the Los Angeles Unified School District.
Mary remained a long-time member of St. Andrews Missionary Baptist Church in Los Angeles and was blessed to have a loving church family.
Mary departed this life on Sunday, June 18, 2023. She was preceded in death by her mother Zula White; her husband, Oscar C. Williams; her sons, Michael and Lanny; her brothers, Howard, Ernest, Boyce, and her sister Odessa.
She is survived by her children, Rene, Arnold, Juanita, her granddaughter Radiance and great-granddaughters Lyric and Harmony, her brother Kermit and sister Shirley.
