Maryland Elizabeth (Denny) Little

Maryland Elizabeth Little, affectionately known as “Mern Denny”, was born in Iredell County, NC on June 3, 1951, to the late Henry Denny and Minnie Mills Denny. Maryland passed away on September 17, 2022, at her home in Mt. Airy NC.

Maryland attended Dunbar High School, she worked various jobs and later retired. At an early age Maryland attended, Antioch Baptist Church in Cleveland NC. She was the Church Mother of Faith Deliverance for Jesus Church, in Mt. Airy NC, she loved old time gospel music, babysitting her grandchildren and cleaning her home.

In addition to her late parents Henry and Minnie Denny, Maryland was preceded in death by Husband; Ronnie Sherrill, daughter; Suprena Denny Bailey, Maternal grandparents; Sylvon and Mary Rose Mills, Sister; Patricia Ann Mills, Brothers; Gilbert and Ricky Denny, Maternal Aunt; Marie Bailey, Uncle; Fred Bailey, Cousin; Wayne Mills, and brother-in-law; Wilbert “Butch” Alexander.

She leaves to cherish her fond memories, two daughters Cassonya Norris (Anthony) and Rhonda Baylor (Keith) of Mt. Airy, NC. Two sisters Carolyn Minor of Mooresville NC, Alferia Conner (Talmadge) of Mooresville NC and brother Stevie Denny of Mooresville NC. Seven grandchildren, George Bailey Jr, Saquise Sherrill, Rodrequs Leach, Demarion Sherrill, Jerel Bailey, Jacario Sherrill (Arianna), Germaine Leach (Kendra) Twelve Great Grandchildren, Jeremiah Sherrill, Rodrion Leach, Geovoni Murillo, Levon Dewey, Shaniya Knox, Lakeria Leach, Micah Hunter, Ivy Murillo, Issac Murillo, Tremaine Leach, Kamiya Leach and Jerel Bailey Jr. A special niece Talmara Conner of Mooresville NC, one Sister-in-law Phyllis Alexander of Mooresville NC

Maryland was raised alongside her cousins, Brenda Patterson, Irene Carson, Jerry Bailey and Debra Parrish. She also leaves a host of other family and friends.
