Ms. Mimi Yvette Stewart was born on October 28, 1969, in Mooresville, North Carolina, to the late Robert and Faye Conner Stewart. She departed her life on Friday, October 4, 2024, at Atrium Health, Lincolnton, North Carolina.
Mimi attended Iredell and Mecklenburg Schools. She worked at Davidson College for many years, Ingersoll Rand, and in housekeeping. She loved her children, grandchildren, and special mother/aunt Brenda McCain. Mimi gave her life to Christ at an early age, and was a member of Davidson Presbyterian Church, USA Davidson, North Carolina.
Mimi was a bright soul and one of a kind. She was all about having a good time; she was the life of the party. She loved taking trips, especially going on the yearly trip to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Mimi was able to attend the beach one last time, this past September; she loved her friends, music and dancing.
Mimi was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Faye Conner Stewart, her son Cameron Stewart, and her granddaughter Zyonna Stewart.
Those left to cherish her memories are her children: Chiquita Stewart, Gercobe McClain (Chaquae Simelton), and Tiniya Stewart; her brothers, Gregory Stewart, Barry Stewart Sr., and Orlando McCain; and sister, Erica McCain; 10 grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews. A special aunt whom she loved dearly Brenda McCain who raised her; her Godmother Vickie Laine Ponder, and special cousins Fonda Clark.
