Nita Delaine Feimster, 68, of Statesville, NC departed this life on Friday, August 9, 2024 after battling Breast Cancer. Nita was born at Davis Hospital in Statesville, NC to the late Estelle Cowan Dobbins and Billy Lowery.
Nitta loved her family more than anything on this earth and did all she could to keep them together by having huge family gatherings at her home through the years; especially when her son Paul came home to visit from the U.S. Navy. She loved her children and was very proud of their accomplishments in life; and her grandsons meant the world to her.
Nita loved to cook, dance, swim, and sing. She spent 19 years of her life in California where she gave birth to her son. While living in CA, Nita worked for the public school system. She spent her time being a mother, pursing her education, and giving back to those in need. She was particularly passionate about helping women going through substance abuse issues. Nita was an amazing lady and she had the most beautiful smile, with a Heart of Gold. She was so good to people in her life, considerate, and caring. Her giving came straight from the heart; and it gave everyone around her the gift of a nicer world to live in.
In addition to her parents; she is preceded in death by her grandmother Mary Cowan, who raised her; a brother Ronnie Cowan; a sister Masherry Kimbrough Shuford; and a nephew Melvin Smith.
Nita leaves to cherish memories; her husband, Arnold Feimster; one daughter, Arnetta Feimster; one son Paul (Grace) James of Japan; four sisters, Crystal Dobbins Pressley, Teresa Gail Smith of California, Billette Hewitt, and Gladys Robinette Davis of Decatur, Georgia; four brothers, Alvin Dobbins of Florida, Curtis Kimbrough of Statesville, Gary Dobbins of Troutman, and James Lowery of Hampton, Georgia. She also leaves two grandsons, Deron and Devon James of Japan; a special cousin Roberta (Paul) Foust, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
