Onecia Marie (Westmoreland) Harris

Mrs. Onecia Marie Westmoreland Harris, 41, of Salisbury NC, gained her wings on March 8th 2025. She was the daughter of Otis & Iris Westmoreland Jr. of Mooresville, NC.  

Onecia was a high school graduate of Mooresville Sr. High School. She also graduated from Clinton Jr. College in Rock Hill, SC, and finished out her academic career at North Carolina A&T University, Greensboro NC. 

Onecia was a member of Shinnsville United Church of Christ, where she served within the praise & worship team, youth choir, combination choir and took on the role as an assistant Sunday School teacher. She also served on the Southern Conference Youth Committee of UCC. 

Onecia held many roles and had a great impact on many lives. She was a beloved EC teacher, dance coach, and a member of North Carolina Association of Educators(NCAE). She worked with children with developmental disabilities. She was currently employed with Salisbury High School. 

Onecia was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Otis & Lennie Westmoreland Sr; Maternal Grandparents, Harold & Iris Marie Knox, along with her aunt, Bonita Wilson. 

Those left to cherish her memories are her loving husband, Neshaun Harris. Parents; Otis & Iris Westmoreland Jr. Sister, Brittany Westmoreland. Mother - In - Law, Denise Harris. Sister-in-Laws; Shakia Harris, Shawan Holden (Nick), and Salina Harris. Godparents; Mr. & Mrs. Corenn Work, and bonus godparent, Rev. Donald & Phyllis Bouler. Godsisters; Asonia Work, Melody McCombs(Sherlock), Nihkitah Wilson(Omar). Godbrother, Koronz Bouler. Onecia also leaves her memory to be cherished by a special host of Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, Godchildren, and great friends.
