Peggy Ann McBride Haywood was born on May 13, 1953 to the late Ernest Clyburn and Jannie Mae McBride Jefferies.
Peggy received her formal education through the Mecklenburg County School System where she graduated from Charlotte High School in Charlotte, NC.
At an early age she joined Greater St. James United Church of Christ where she accepted Christ as her savior.
After high school she worked at Dydee Services where she was a production worker for years then transferred to National Linen.
“Peg”, as she was affectionately called, loved fishing, traveling, her dog Bear, and just hanging out with family and friends.
Peggy departed this life on June 6, 2020. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Robert Haywood Jr., her son Cory Haywood, her daughter Laquanda Haywood, and both her parents.
She is survived by one daughter, Tomonaka Haywood, one son, Raymond McBride both of Charlotte, NC; one brother, Tommy McBride, three sisters Carolyn McBride, Debra Jefferies, and Gloria Jefferies, all of Charlotte, NC. She also leaves to cherish eight grandkids, Ressean McBride, Corey McBride, Ashley McBride, Ta’Varsa Haywood, Ta’Laya Haywood, Cory Haywood, and Zay’Breon Wright, all of Charlotte, NC, and Sha’Coryia McClinton of Greenville, SC; one great grandson Carter Haywood,; a special companion Richard Still; two aunts, Sarah Reeder of Brooklyn, NY and Mary Young of Charlotte, NC; two sister in laws, one brother in law, and a host of nieces , nephews, cousins, and friends.
