Richard Eugene Graham Sr. affectionately known as “Gene”. The sunset on April 17th, 2026 in Huntersville NC at Novant hospital, after battling a long illness. Gene was born in Mecklenburg county on April 12th, 1949, to the lat Ms. Violet Graham.
Gene received his education through the Mecklenburg county school system. He served in the U.S. Army for a number of years. He was a faithful member of Ebenezer United Methodist Church his entire life, where he served as a Trustee and Praise Worship Leader until his health began to decline. Gene worked in Dietary Services for numerous years at Davidson College, until he retired. He was a huge Steelers fan, as everyone knows Gene loved his Steelers.
Gene is preceded in death by his mother Ms.Violet Graham and sister Joann Mass. Gene leaves to cherish his fondest memories: his wife of over 51 years Valerie Graham. One son: Richard Graham Jr. (Of the Home), Two daughters: Crystal Forney(Richmond VA), Nyiesha Graham( Of the Home). A Brother in law: Elliot Forney(Linda) (Stoney Point NC). He also leaves Eight Grandchildren: Joshua Forney, Christopher Hill, Stephanie Hill, Jewell Rosemann, Christian Forney, Jamie Forney, Tyiliem Graham, and Leanna Patterson. Ten great-grandchildren, One bonus daughter: Valerie Forney. A special Cousin: Charles Graham, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, church family, and friends.
